A Culture of Caring

Time to read: 11 Minutes

At The Tranel Financial Group, caring for our community is more than an initiative—it’s part of who we are. For over 35 years, we’ve proudly called Lake County, IL home, and we credit much of our success to the incredible support of the people and organizations around us. As a family-owned business, we are committed to giving back in ways that reflect our gratitude and strengthen the bonds that make this community special.

We Value YOU. The Community.

While individual acts of giving are vital, we also believe in the power of collective action. Each quarter, we organize service outings in the local community where our team comes together to tackle immediate needs. These shared experiences not only make a tangible difference but also strengthen the connections within our team. It is important to us that we make an impact on those closest to us.

2024 activities have included:

  • Packing snacks for United Way, addressing food insecurity for families in need.
  • Preparing diapers for Keeping Families Covered, ensuring access to essential hygiene supplies.
  • Participating in Shop with a Cop, bringing joy to children during the holiday season.
  • Volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, assembling meals to fight global hunger.

These outings are a reflection of our collective commitment to supporting our community, one project at a time.

We Value GIVING BACK.

Fostering a culture of caring starts within our own team. Every employee at The Tranel Financial Group is given one service day off per year to volunteer with a cause they’re passionate about. Whether it’s helping at a local shelter, tutoring students, or participating in environmental cleanups, this day empowers our employees to make a direct impact in areas that resonate with them personally.

To further support our team’s charitable efforts, we match donations up to $250 for any nonprofit organization of their choosing. This initiative ensures that our employees’ generosity goes even further, amplifying their contributions to the causes that matter most to them.

2024 Team Member Service Days and Matched Donations:

Our team members have made an incredible impact this year through their service and charitable donations. Here are some of the ways they’ve contributed to the community:

  • Katie participated in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary as her service outing, dedicating her time to supporting veterans and their families. She also generously donated to Tunnels to Towers and Operation Sweat Life, causes that honor first responders and promote community well-being.
  • Sara spent her service day volunteering at the Humane Society, assisting with animal care and welfare. She also made a matched donation to the Arthritis Foundation, supporting research and advocacy for those affected by arthritis.
  • Erich chose to support Tiny Hooves Animal Sanctuary, contributing to the care and protection of rescued farm animals.
  • Kim extended her support to Tunnels to Towers, honoring fallen heroes and aiding their families through her matched donation.

These efforts, whether through service days or donations, embody the caring spirit of our team and amplify the collective impact we strive to make.

Spreading Joy During the Holidays

The holiday season is a time for generosity, and we embrace it wholeheartedly. Each year, our team organizes coat and food drives to provide warmth and nourishment to those facing challenges during the colder months.

Additionally, we sponsor a family for the holidays, offering gifts, meals, and essentials to help them celebrate with dignity and joy. These efforts ensure that our neighbors feel supported and valued during a season meant for togetherness and hope.

Walk Into Abundance

Our culture of caring goes beyond immediate needs—we strive to create lasting impact. One example of this is Walk Into Abundance, a program designed to support individuals and families in need by addressing their challenges holistically. The family and their journey is kept confidential for security reasons.

Through personalized education, access to resources, one-on-one coaching, and invitations to transformational events like The Global Leadership Summit, we aim to help participants build a brighter future. This initiative exemplifies our belief that meaningful change happens when we walk alongside those in need, empowering them to thrive.

Building a Legacy of Service

At The Tranel Financial Group, caring for our community is not a single act—it’s an ongoing commitment. From empowering our employees to give back, to organizing company-wide efforts, to supporting transformative programs, we strive to make Lake County a stronger, more connected place.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know there’s always more to do. Together with our team, our neighbors, and our partners, we’re dedicated to fostering a culture of caring that leaves a lasting legacy of hope and abundance.
